Obituary for Eddie Parker

Snow Hill-James Edwin Parker Sr., "Eddie", 67, of Snow Hill, passed away to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Eddie was born August 27, 1950 in Pitt County to the late J. D. and Bea Parker, who were long time employees of Dupont. His grandparents were the late J. D. Parker, Sr., Lucille Parker, John Manning and Lena Manning.

Eddie grew up in Greenville and Kinston as a young boy. He attended Lenoir County Schools and later earned a Heavy Equipment Degree from Wilson Technical College. Eddie retired from the N.C. Department Of Transportation with 30 years of service.

As an active volunteer and supporter of Moosehaven & Mooseheart, Eddie earned numerous badges and participated in many camp-outs. His caring heart, giving nature and concern for others were a guide throughout life for Eddie. He took great pride in picking up the spirits of others whom he met along the path of life.

Eddie had a great love of people and animals, and he always enjoyed a good Western movie. With a keen sense of humor, he was known for being a jokester. It seemed that Eddie never met a stranger. He could strike up conversation with anyone he met, which instantly allowed him to bond with everyone. His brother-in-law described Eddie like this, “You never met a sweeter man.”
