Obituary for Gary Edward Bolduc

Gary E. Bolduc
February 8, 1955 - November 4, 2018

Goldsboro - Gary Edward Bolduc, 63, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 4, 2018. Gary was born to Edward O. Bolduc and Norma Rae Bolduc in Roswell, New Mexico on February 8, 1955.

Gary proudly served his country and retired from the United States Army. While in the Army he served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Gary also spent time as a Special Forces Combat Medic. Gary’s patriotism and love for his fellow man lead to a stint in Vietnam searching for fallen comrades from the war. Gary was an avid student of history. He was consumed by a love of military history and would become immersed in a good war movie.

Gary was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He last worked at Med First: Primary and Urgent Care as a Physician’s Assistant.

Gary loved the Christmas season and put his heart and soul into decorating around the house. Like the Griswold’s, big, bold, and bright was his theme; the tackier, the better. Gary’s family has fond memories of his unique gift-giving. He put forth full effort in devising gift ideas that were out of the ordinary. Christmas was always Gary’s favorite time.

For Gary, a good cold beer and a taco were hard to beat. In Gary’s eyes, German beer was as good as it got, and a cold Warsteiner could always be found in the fridge. He was a renowned cheese aficionado and kept a wide array of cheeses in stock. A popcorn connoisseur, he enjoyed experimenting with all different types of flavors. A diehard Cheesehead, a perfect Sunday afternoon for Gary would be spent watching his beloved Green Bay Packers.

A kid at heart, no one had a bigger sweet tooth than Gary. Peeps Chicks and Rabbits and Haribo Gummy Bears were his favorites. Everywhere around Gary’s house displayed the evidence of his love of Pez Dispensers.

Gary treasured time spent outdoors. He could often be found working in the yard with his plants and flowers. In recent years, Gary would take his bike to the base to ride, but it could be debated that he was there to ride or watch the planes come and go. He looked forward to time spent at the beach. The worries and cares of life seemed to disappear when he was at the coast. The beach, his boat, and his family were the perfect medicine for a great life.

With family, friends, and faith at the forefront of his life, Gary met every challenge head on. He will be remembered for his keen sense of humor that endeared him to everyone he met.

A service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. from the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Weaver officiating.

In addition to his parents, Gary is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Alicia Scott Bolduc; sons, Jason Bolduc and wife, Ashley and Cory Bolduc and wife, Krystal; daughter, Emily Crumpler and husband, Jeffrey; sister, Deborah Coleman and husband, Darrell; and four grandchildren, Ethan, Allison, Bryton, and Arden.

Family and friends will be received Thursday following the service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Memorials in Gary’s memory may be made to Cures for the Colors, 203 Cox Boulevard, Goldsboro, NC 27534. Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
