Obituary for George Anderson Bryan, Jr.

La Grange-George Anderson “Andy” Bryan Jr., 60, of La Grange, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Andy was born June 2, 1957 in Lenoir County to George Anderson Bryan, Sr. and Betty Jean Bryan.

Andy worked fourteen years with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Department. Following his career in law enforcement, Andy’s desire to help others led to a career working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. His family has many fond memories of his abilities in the kitchen. He loved cooking and enjoyed trying out new dishes. Andy always found canoeing down the Neuse River or trips to the beach relaxing and a way of letting life’s worries drift away. An avid UNC Tarheel fan, Andy loved watching his beloved Heels in action. We weep at our loss, laugh with our remembrances, and fondly hold onto how much Andy meant to us.

A graveside service to celebrate Andy’s life will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. from Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, Andy is survived by two children, George Anderson Bryan, III and Shanna Elizabeth Bryan; two grandchildren, Austin Bryan and Zack Bryan; and three siblings, Terri Raynor, William “Shorty” Bryan and Michael Bryan.

Family and friends will be received Sunday following the graveside service. Online condolences may be expressed at Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
